When it comes to slight of hand and deception, Cody is one of the best I have ever witnessed. Honestly. I lived in Las Vegas for 4 years and in that time I was able to witness some of the best the world has to offer. Even so, the first time I met Cody, everything about the guy blew me away!
I was honestly very skeptical of how much I would actually be impressed (if at all) by what he could do but within 10 minutes of seeing him perform, I was dumbfounded. His is extremely modest and personable and this makes you love him even more. He will watch your jaw drop to the ground, help you pick it up off the floor, and do it all over again with a simple smirk on his face.When he contacted me to shoot some professional images for him, I reveled at the idea of doing something more creative and already had in my head a few things I wanted to do. His style is not that of a traditional magician but that doesn’t mean that he is any less capable. Some of the shoot’s best images of Cody. Just as Cody is deceptive with his hands, a photographer can be deceptive with his work as well. I consider myself a practical photographer in regards to “photoshopping” my images. I use it as much as is needed to produce the idea that I am going for. Im most cases I simply use it to clean up “distractions” in a portrait. In these images, a little more finesse was required.In this series of images you can see what went into the simple “floating spade”. Cody maintained a simple motionless pose and two shots were taken. 1. With the card. 2. Without the card. Fused in Photoshop, the finished image.

In the last image Cody dispersed the card decks a few times and the same process was applied.
